Poverty not only destroys human beings physically but also morally. A poor can’t live with dignity, it eats its moral, social and culture values etc. in keeping view these facts, In October 1999 SACHET instigated its Poverty Alleviation Cum Income Generation program with the vision “ Economic and Social Empowerment of the disadvantaged with Gender perspectives ”as a support program by initiating Women Vision project in collaboration with Hawwa Women Associates.
In March, 2006 SACHET gallery and SACHET Shop for a Cause become separated under PACIG, both are located in the premises of SACHET Head Office. So far the gallery has introduced and promoted more than 100(both males and females) artisans across Pakistan.
A proper agreement is signed. SACHET retains 20% (10% only if the skilled one is a special person) and remaining 80 or 90% as the case may be is paid to the consignor through a crossed cheque. Proceeds from the sales of goods at the shop is utilized for buying medicines for free SACHET clinics.
Training being a catalyst in the development and promotion of human, SACHET has established Vocational training Center at Shahdrah, Banigala, and Pathergarh &Panyali. At these centers females get three months trainings of sewing cutting, stitching and preparation of decorative items along with marketing and managerial skills. They are also allowed to use SACHET Gallery/Shop to market their products/dresses. Currently we have two operational skill development centers at Pinyali & Pathergarh.
SACHETS also arrange trainings of art and craft products on a regular basis, these trainings are given by master trainers of art and craft. These trainings not only enhance the existing skills of a person but also provide and opportunity to learn new skills. Till March 2006, 860 students received art and craft Training. |
