Sehsuchte is the biggest student film festival in Europe. Since 1972 the festival is being organized by University of Film and Television (HFF) "Konard Wolf" PotsdamGermany every year. Over the period of time the festival consistently gained significance as a forum for artistic creativity and as an intercultural platform for the film world's new international generation.
The 38th Annual festival held from 21st April 2009 till 26th April 2009 in Potsdam, Babelsberg Germany. A total number of 80 international film makers invited from 13 countries all over the world after the selection and recommendations by the film jury who consisted of international renowned film makers and producers.
A total number of 1200 international films have been submitted by the film makers from all over the world for the pre-selection process, out of which 100 films were selected by the film jury.
Documentary film “From Khyber to Karachi” was also selected for the festival. Our documentary was the only film selected from Pakistan.
“From Khyber to Karachi” directed by Dr. Rakhshinda Perveen and produced by Family Health International is based on the Project of NACP and FHI called Humrahi, which is doing behavior change strategic communication, offering services for long route truck drivers and addressing STIs including condom distribution at different outlets working at the main truck stations all over Pakistan.Documentary film shows Pakistani Truck Art, life of the drivers and associated population and issues of HIV due to their risky behaviors.
